Here’s what you get with ‘Jammin Reggae Drum Loops V1’: With side stick, rim shots and highly tuned snares, these classic reggae rhythms should add realism and vitality to your productions. We added some subtle tape saturation for a nice, evenly compressed tone.
These included Drawmer tube compressors and Focusrite EQ’s. These live acoustic beats and fills were fed through all manner of vintage and modern analogue gear. We used a vintage Lexicon reverb on those snare fills and left the rest of the drum kit completely dry.
This gives it that almost ‘timbale’ like sound that is so characteristic of classic reggae. To get that ‘reverbed’ snare tone we tuned the snare drum to a high note and then removed the snares on the underside of the drum altogether.
